Forward scored brace in match against New Mexico
SAN ANTONIO (July 2, 2024) – San Antonio FC forward Juan Agudelo has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week Bench after scoring the team’s first brace of the season against New Mexico United.
In addition to the goals, Agudelo recorded five shots and six duels won, while completing 15 of 20 passes in the full 90 minutes of play. The striker leads SAFC this season in goals, shots and shots on target.
In addition to the score, Hernandez added six shots and 17 recoveries over SAFC’s two Week 14 matches while winning three of four tackles. The midfielder also created eight chances, leading USL Championship this season with 41.
The selection is Agudelo’s first Team of the Week award of the year and San Antonio’s 11th total.
Agudelo and SAFC return to action this Saturday, hosting defending league champions Phoenix Rising FC at Toyota Field. The match is set to kick off at 8:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+ and Bally Sports Southwest. This season is presented by Toyota.
