South Sudanese international joins SAFC after three seasons with Atlanta United
SAN ANTONIO (Apr. 2, 2024) – San Antonio FC has signed forward Machop Chol, pending league and federation approval. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Chol began playing with the Atlanta United academy in its inaugural 2016-17 season before committing to national powerhouse Wake Forest. Over the course of his collegiate career, he bagged 13 goals in 65 matches. In 2021, Chol signed a Homegrown Player with Atlanta. Since then, the 25-year-old has logged 1,006 minutes with the first team and 509 minutes between USL Championship and MLS Next Pro with Atlanta United 2. In 2023, he scored two goals in 19 MLS appearances.
Chol has three caps for South Sudan at the full international level, appearing most recently in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in January.
San Antonio FC heads to the road Saturday to take on Las Vegas Lights FC. Kickoff from Cashman Field is set for 9:30 p.m. CT, and the match will be broadcast on ESPN+. The 2024 season is presented by Toyota.
