SAN ANTONIO (Mar. 6, 2024) – San Antonio FC has acquired forward José Mulato on loan from FC Dallas, pending league and federation approval. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are delighted to announce the acquisition of José and express our gratitude to FC Dallas for accommodating the loan,” said SAFC Head Coach Alen Marcina. “José brings valuable attacking depth to our squad with promising potential, and we are eager to nurture and maximize his talent within our environment.”
Born in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, Mulato grew up playing in Deportivo Cali’s academy system before making his professional debut for the first-division side in Categoría Primera A. Following that, the 21-year-old was signed by FC Dallas at the end of the season and has spent time in both MLS and Next Pro in 2023.
Mulato has seven appearances for Colombia U19 and U20 squads. He scored his first international goal in a friendly against the Dominican Republic in September 2022.
