Jorge Hernandez Named to First Team, Tani Oluwaseyi and Mitchell Taintor Earn Second Team
SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 7, 2023) – San Antonio FC has had three players named to the USL Championship All-League teams, the league announced today. Midfielder Jorge Hernandez was named to the All-League First Team, while defender Mitchell Taintor and forward Tani Oluwaseyi earned Second Team honors.
Hernandez earned a spot on the league’s best XI after leading the league in assists with 10 in 2023. The midfielder set a single-season assist record for SAFC in his first season with the team, and is now a two-time All-League selection after earning the honor in 2021 with LA Galaxy II.
Taintor was named to an All-League team for the second-straight season, after earning First Team and Defender of the Year accolades last season. The captain anchored the SAFC defense, finishing the year with 93 clearances, 14 blocks, 50 interceptions and 50 tackles.
Oluwaseyi landed on the All-League Second Team after a dominant offensive season. The forward set a club single-season record with 17 goals scored in the regular season, and added in seven assists for good measure. The MLS loanee finished the year with three hat tricks on the season, as well as a club-record four goals in one match.
