The preseason match took place on the campus of Mountain View College.
“Today was a good exercise,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell. “I thought both teams fought in a very competitive match. For us, we were able to get the contracted players 45 minutes each. All in all there’s a lot of positives to take from today’s game, but there’s also some things we need to work on. We will get back together as a group this week and continue to improve for the following weekend.”
SAFC opened the scoring in the first half after right back Milton Palacios barraged forward on an overlapping run and was found with a neat through ball by Jason Johnson, before burying the resulting shot in the back of the net.
Rayo OKC equalized later in the half after former FC Dallas midfielder Michel scored from a direct free-kick from the edge of the box.
The match marks the first preseason game for SAFC as they prepare for their 2016 USL opener on April 3 in Seattle. The club will return to San Antonio the following week for their home opener at Toyota Field on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m.
