Another goal from forward Jason Johnson led the way as SAFC won their third preseason match in five games.
SAFC opened the scoring in the first half after Johnson was pulled down in the box attempting a header, forcing the referee to give a penalty. Johnson buried the ensuing spot kick to the keeper’s right to give San Antonio a 1-0 lead.
Just a few minutes later, Corinthians FC capitalized on an opportunity in the SAFC half, equalizing on an open net.
The second half saw SAFC create multiple scoring opportunities and their persistence paid off when a trialist nicked a long ball around the charging goalkeeper and rolled it into the empty net, giving SAFC the 2-1 lead and eventual win.
The match comes in preparation for the 2016 USL opener on April 3 in Seattle. The club will return to San Antonio the following week for their home opener at Toyota Field on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m.
